Sabrina Lynn Cox

This web page is dedicated to Sabrina Lynn Cox. Sabrina was born July 1, 2002 in Palm Springs, California, to proud parents Larry and Julie Cox. Sabrina was born with a very rare condition called triploidy (69,XXX) where she has three full sets of chromosomes instead of two full sets. Sabrina was born at full-term via C-section (in order to give her a chance at life) weighing 3 lbs. 9 oz. and measuring 17 inches. After birth her parents and other family members got to hold her and be with her for about an hour. She was then placed in Neonatal-ICU where the only medical “intervention” was the placement of a tube down her mouth for feedings of breast milk. Family arranged 24-hour vigil with her for her to feel support and love. She was born on a Monday and discharged on that Friday at roughly her birth weight. Medical personnel said to take her home to love and to die. Discharge papers read that her condition was “inevitably fatal.” She had two holes in her heart (which later healed on their own) and a very rapid respiration rate. Since birth Sabrina has been generally healthy. Apart from an occasional hospital visit, she is home with her family. She is a very happy and peaceful little girl. Sabrina is now We truly consider it a miracle that she was born and will update this page as often as possible with her status.
Special thanks to Sabrina's cousin, Samuel, and to her Uncle Kevin and Aunt Wendy for creating this webpage.
